Lobular breast cancer is the second most common type of breast cancer but there are currently no treatments specifically for it. Professor Chris Lord and his team are finding weaknesses in lobular breast cancers to see if we can target these with drugs. The team has already established that the lung cancer drug crizotinib could be a potential treatment, leading to a major phase II clinical trial.
